The
machine consists of a telescopic excavator,
mounted on a slew ring and fixed in the
crown of the shield.
Situated in the shield is the operator
station which utilises joystick controls
to excavate.
Muck is removed by a hydraulically-driven
belt conveyor, which is slide mounted
to facilitate cleaning.
The
machine components have been designed
for ease of removal for adaptation to
different diameters of shield, if required
at a later stage.
